My name is Ms. Rebecca Martinez; this is my 19th year at St. Leander School. I myself attended St. Leander from 1st thru 8th grade. After graduating from 8th grade I went on to attend St. Joseph Notre Dame High School in Alameda. I furthered my education at Cal State University Hayward. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Human Development with a special emphasis in Child Development. Shortly after I received my degree, I returned to St. Leander to work as the PK/K SLED coordinator and teacher's assistant. After four years at this position, I entered the Cal State Teach Credential Program through Cal State Monterey. In 2009, I received my teaching credential and became the 2nd grade teacher here. I had a delightful time working with 2nd graders for 9 years. I was then asked to move into an administrative position. I was excited to be the vice principal for the past 5 years. This year I will continue to be part-time Vice Principal but will also move back into the classroom to teach 5th grade. I enjoy integrating learning games with lessons to ensure full understanding and to help gain confidence in the classroom. I look forward to a safe, fun-filled, educational school year.
