Sixth Grade
In Literature class, students will begin reading The Skin I’m In as our final novel study for the year. We will be utilizing online PDF versions of the book as well as listening to an audiobook during our Zoom class meetings. Students will continue to have writing assignments that revolve around the reading. In Language Arts, students will be focusing on the foundational grammar and conventions for sixth grade. Lastly, we will continue utilizing Duolingo.com for Spanish lessons and practice, as well as typing.com to get them acclimated with typing expectations in middle school. |
In Literature, the 7th graders will begin reading The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare as our final novel study for the year. We will be utilizing online PDF versions of the book as well as listening to an audiobook during our Zoom class meetings. Students will continue to engage in discussion and writing revolving around the text. In Language Arts, students will continue working through noredink.com lessons specific to the common core standards for their grade level. Lastly, we will continue utilizing Duolingo.com for Spanish lessons and practice, as well as typing.com to help them improve their overall typing speed. |
In Literature, the 8th graders will begin reading The Diary of Anne Frank as our final novel study for the year. We will be utilizing online PDF versions of the book as well as listening to an audiobook during our Zoom class meetings. Students will begin with mini research slide projects to give historical context. Students will continue to engage in discussion and writing revolving around the text. In Language Arts, students will continue working through noredink.com lessons that will help them with the grammatical foundation necessary for high school. Lastly, we will continue utilizing Duolingo.com for Spanish lessons and practice, as well as typing.com to continue to keep their typing speed up to par. |
